2022-2023 Travel Tryout Schedule

Tryouts dates for the 2022-2023 travel season will be announced here as they are finalized for each age group.

 Details about the season, beginning with indoor practices in November, are included below the tryout dates.

-BU16 Premier Team (boys born 2007/younger):
-Monday, June 13, 5:30-7:00pm. Nardin Community Athletic Complex.
This is for highly-committed, high-level players to compete in the Great Lakes Alliance League, State Cup, Winter Leagues, multiple high-level summer tournaments, etc. 

-Additional Age Groups will have tryouts in late June or July. Details will be announced soon!

Reminder - there is no fee to try out. Invitations to join the program will be emailed in the weeks following the tryout. Families will be asked to submit a $175 deposit at that time to secure the player's roster spot, followed by a $73 monthly payment, Nov.- June. Some teams may elect to practice just once per week, or start later, which would lower the overall cost. Those determinations will be announced as soon as they are finalized. Otherwise, all teams are provided with the following: 

-Two practices per week. During Nov-Apr, two indoor practices will be held at Nardin Academy Athletic Center, although limited space may dictate one practice may be held at Elmwood Village Charter School on Hertel Ave. A DSC Trainer/Staff on site at each of these sessions unless DOC or Coach opts for practice without. During May-July, teams will continue to practice twice per week with a DSC Trainer/Staff on site at least one of those two practices unless DOC or Coach opts for practice without. These facility fees, trainer fees, equipment costs, and field costs are all included in the registration fee.

 

-Competition in the BWNYJSL once/twice a week, May-July. This includes the required NYSWYSA player insurance, U.S. Soccer player pass, Coach background check/Risk Management pass, team registration fee, and League bond.

 

-One Outdoor Tournament registration fee is also included in each package. 

 

-Additional items covered by the registration fee include various administrative costs, equipment costs and scholarship costs.

 

Note: The uniform will be an additional cost for two jerseys, shorts and socks of approximately $70. Families must order these through our apparel provide via the DSC Uniforms/Gear link at the top of the page. Teams have the option to join an indoor league during the winter and/or compete in additional outdoor tournaments at an additional cost. Families are also responsible for all travel, lodging and food costs. Financial aid is available to those demonstrating the greatest need. All teams receive age appropriate professional - level coaching from the highly qualified DSC technical staff at every indoor session along with close guidance and direction throughout the spring and summer alongside the volunteer coach.

Meet the DSC Coaching Staff:

Asani Samuels - Samuels' background includes four years of Division I soccer, including three Regional All-American Honors and the Canisius Male Athlete of the Year Award. He competed for multiple years of professional soccer, earning the USL Finals MVP Award after leading the Rochester Rhinos to the 2015 USL Championship. He has coached many different levels at various clubs and has been a valuable presence on the DSC sidelines for more than six years.

Jon Cary – A standout division I college soccer player for the Canisius College Golden Griffins and FC Buffalo who has garner multiple accolades during his career which includes 4 State Titles, 2 All State Selections and a key component in a defensive unit which ended his D1 career with school records in goals against and fewest goals allowed. Jon has been around Delaware Soccer Program for multiple years as he volunteered in college to lead several sessions. With his wealth of experience and his knowledge of the game, he will play a crucial role in or process of becoming an elite club.

 

A.C. Laflore –   A lifelong soccer player from Syracuse, NY but found a home here in Buffalo after playing 4 years at Canisius College. A school psychologist that works to help students achieve their academic goals. With multiple years of experience Coach A.C. started coaching girls modified soccer at Cheektowaga-Sloan, then coached two successful years of JV boys soccer at Kenmore East. A defender through and through! he approaches the beautiful game with a defense comes first mindset, pushing our athletes to work hard and communicate with each other successfully. A stalwart in the Canisius College Men’s Soccer defense line that brought the program to new heights which includes multiple program records. He vouches to guide, teach, and challenge our teams to meet and exceed their goals. 

 

Abby Pearson – A standout who has amassed multiple accolades at the collegiate and the professional level. The Dayton, Ohio native played professionally for the Dayton Dutch Lions of the USL W-League and won a conference title in 2013. Pearson then went on to the Cincinnati Sirens of the WPSL and PASL from 2015-19—won the PASL title in 2019. A former assistant coach for Bonaventure University and the current head coach for the D’Youville saints, she comes to us a wealth on knowledge both as a coach and as a player.
