All coaches are volunteers, and are often a parent of a player within the program. DSC asks that you consider fulfilling this need as a rewarding opportunity to support the community and have some fun! Coaches will coach their team's one-hour practice each week and one-hour game on Saturdays. Free coaching education classes, educational resources and detailed practice plans are provided to support all coaches regardless of prior experience or soccer knowledge. Knowledgeable trainers are also available to assist with the team practices as needed.
As you move through the online registration process, please select “YES” when asked if interested in volunteering. Coaches who fulfill the nine-week obligation will receive a $50 refund on their child’s registration fee at the conclusion of the season.
DSC places the players onto a team within their age group. To determine your age bracket, view the U.S. Soccer Age Matrix. We will attempt to honor friend/teammate requests, as well as coaching requests, for the U3 – U8 levels; however, this cannot be guaranteed. In the older age groups, an attempt will be made to spread out the talent and create fair teams and competitive games. This will also encourage the growth of new friendships at the older levels and the potential to work with a new coach to gain a new perspective/knowledge of the game.
DSC is excited to update our game format to follow fully all playing standards provided by U.S. Soccer. DSC and US Soccer share the same development philosophy and we are excited to offer soccer training and games that maximize player development with the following primary benefits:
Develop improved skills with the ball
Develop intelligence with and without the ball
Provide an age appropriate environment
Uniformity across the country and across membership
