Dynamos Hit Mid Season Winning Streak
Dynamos Beat Holland 4-0

DELAWARE  DYNAMOS MOVE AHEAD

The Dynamos posted their fourth consecutive win Tuesday, July 7th by shutting out the Holland Shooting Stars 4-0.  Playing at their home field, the girls in green clearly dominated the game, pressing Holland ’s defense time-after-time. The Dynamos’ first goal came early in the game when Ashley Farrow booted the ball downfield to Zoe Stout, whose well-aimed kick sent the ball sailing into the back of the net. Farrow was definitely on mark for the game, booting the ball again, this time to Becca Alvira who passed it to Stout.   Some fancy dribbling through Holland ’s defense, another shot and Stout put the Dynamos ahead 2-0.

Before the end of the first half, Holland was awarded a Direct Kick.  The Dynamos pulled together to form a wall, the kick went up and over their heads, but goalie Meghan Spears was there for a big catch.  Spears, though small in size, sent the offending ball, for the fourth time, back to the Dynamos forwards with a powerful kick.

The girls continued to defend their home field in the second half, wasting no time scoring again.  Shay Vaccaro took a corner kick, in Holland territory, aiming it at the net, only to have it deflected out-of-bounds. Vaccaro lined-up for a second kick, again being denied.  The third time was the charm.  Vaccaro took her spot in the corner and shot a line drive, past Holland ’s goalie, for Dynamo score number three.

The final goal started with a pass by Mimi Zak to Alvira who dribbled circles around several Holland players waiting for an opening to the net.  When it came, she slammed the ball down centerfield, into the net for goal number four. Maddie Walawender, in her debut in the goalie’s spot, gave it her all the second half, even diving on a ball to stop a goal.

The rest of the Dynamos each contributed to the victory.  Morgan Webber rounded out the forward line, Alaina Pariso and Molly Mathias kept the ball moving at midfield and Catherine Ranney, Lauren Heaney and Lindsay Mathias helped give the Dynamos their edge in defense.

Coach Robyn Kania and Manager Tony Pariso guided the girls to their win.  Coach Robyn called it a great game saying “I hope you are as proud of the way you have been playing as I am.  Keep it up!”

Before leaving, the girls took a moment to dedicate Tuesday’s win to their former coach, Ann Malayne and her newborn son, Ryan Anthony.
