DYNAMOS OPEN SEASON WITH A WIN
Despite threatening skies and gusting winds the Dynamos came away with a decisive 6-2 win in their season opener against
South Buffalo
on Tuesday May 1st.
As parents huddled in their cars, lined up with strategic views of the JH Williams Field, the team drove time and time again to the opponent’s net, scoring six goals. While everyone on the field contributed to keeping the ball in
South Buffalo
’s territory it was well placed kicks by Taylor Amico, Zoe (two goal) Stout, Morgan Webber and Molly Mathias that kept the Dynamos in the lead for the entire game.
Goalies Shay Vaccaro and Sara Collins, playing in the net for the first time, were defeated only twice, as
South Buffalo
eeked out two goals against the Dynamos dynamite defense. Goalie Colleen Mahoney cheered on the entire team from the bench, where she is sideline for a few more weeks with a leg injury. Assistant Coach Danielle Pelletier and Team Manager Tony Pariso guided the girls to their victory with key substitutions and strategic planning throughout the game.
There are a number of new players on the Dynamos roster: Sarah Collins, Ashley Farrow, Molly Mathias, Krissy McLaughlin, Meghan Spears and Maddie Walawender, but they clearly are already working as a team with returning players Becca Alvira, Taylor Amico, Emily Gendron, Lauren Heaney, Colleen Mahoney, Gabrielle Maier, Lindsay Mathias, Alaina Pariso, Catherine Ranney, Zoe Stout, Shay Vaccaro, Morgan Webber and Mimi Zak.
All of the girls put their heads together last week to elect team Captains Taylor Amico, Shay Vaccaro and Mimi Zak.
The 2007 Dynamo season is sure to be an exciting one!
